Goodbye Grey, Hello Joy by Home Milk & Neil Perry

Home Milk is an interiors platform run by Emma Merry who is passionate about colour. Emma’s mission is to motivate and inspire people to infuse their lives with joy and happiness through colour - a woman after my own heart!

Neil Perry is a photographer and owner of SHE BUILDS UK which is a startup company that aims to address the lack of gender equality in the UK construction industry.

Together they have created a glorious book, packed full of the brightest homes (see Ms Pink & Mr Black on page 108!) What I particularly enjoyed is that the homes in this book are normal houses, they aren’t mega mansions in far flung places. They are UK homes and of a “normal” size - making the designs feel accessible.

It is a very well timed publication as the interiors industry is showing no signs of ditching the embrace of colour that we have seen emerging in recent years. Grey really does seem to be gone or at least only being used as a back drop to the increasing quantities of colour we wish to use in our homes. In my opinion absolutely the best place for it!

I really enjoyed this book, there are lots of homes I had not seen before, a real mix of styles and price points making it an enjoyable read whilst still being inspirational and aspirational. Be warned, if you are toying with implementing more colour into your home; you will not be able to resist doing so after reading this book!
